Children:
Children's Chapel
We invite young children to start their worship time in Children’s
Chapel and join their family in the nave for the celebration of Holy
Communion. There are two separate children chapels to reach children on
a level appropriate to their age. The main focus of Children’s Chapel
is hearing the Word. The chapel leaders engage children in
storytelling, drama and music.
On a rotation basis, the clergy
visit the chapels to spend some time with the children. This allows
each child to get to know our clergy and learn their role in the
church. This informal visit is always a highlight for the children.
The
older children, kindergarten through third grade, meet upstairs in our
Children’s Chapel. The younger children, ages 3 and 4, remain
downstairs in the preschool rooms for the Little Children’s Chapel
service.
All
children are encouraged to arrive before 9 a.m. in order for parents to
arrive on time to church. Chapel leaders bring the children to the
nave during the hymn before the Holy Communion begins. Parents are
asked to take seat-saver cardswith them into the nave so they can
reserve a seat for their children when then arrive from Children’s
Chapel.
