College Ministry

This year we are embarking on a new ministry at The Church of the Holy Spirit, a simple outreach - or maybe we should call it the "reach-out" plan to our CHS members who are off at college. We want our college students to feel a part of CHS and keep their faith present.  We began in the fall with emails and mailing to students. The plan is to send four care packages to students away in college each year.  We have sent three care packages; one for Halloween, for Advent, a mid-winter treat and Easter gift.

Our goal is to have our college students feel a part of CHS and keep their faith active, whether here or far, and remind them that this church is here as a support to them.  In the fall we will host an annual Welcome Back Brunch at Thanksgiving to greet our returning college students to worship and social hour.  Plus we have also begun an email program of regular (but not too regular) emails to students.

In the next year we will explore Winter Break Social and outreach activity; Mission Trip opportunities; Summer Connections; and most importantly a friend/mentor in time of need.  We will develop programs that help keep the youth of our church supported in their every day life and encourage the continuation of their faith journey.
